Code of Ethics

Scene Stormers is a d/b/a and operating division of Wistful Tiger Incorporated (the “Company”). This Code states the principles that govern how everyone working under the Scene Stormers name — the Company’s officers and the independent contractors it engages for the division (collectively, the “Team”) — works with the writers who purchase our workshops, courses, critique services, and related programs (our “Writers” or “Clients”).

This is a statement of values, not a rulebook; the Scene Stormers Code of Conduct translates these principles into specific, enforceable standards for both the Team and our Writers. Where the two documents ever appear to conflict, the more protective reading for the Writer prevails.

1. Writers come first

We exist to help our Writers become better at their craft. Every program decision — curriculum, pricing, scheduling, feedback practices, technology choices — is made with the Writer’s growth and wellbeing as the primary consideration. We do not design services to maximize dependence on us; we design them so Writers eventually need us less.

2. The work belongs to the writer

A Writer’s manuscript, ideas, voice, and creative choices are theirs. We advise; we do not appropriate. We never use a Writer’s work for our own commercial purposes, our marketing, or the training of any artificial intelligence system without informed, written, and freely given consent. Declining such consent never affects the quality of service a Writer receives.

3. Honest feedback, delivered with care

Writers pay us for truthful assessment, and flattery is a form of dishonesty. We give candid, specific, craft-focused feedback. But candor is never a license for cruelty: critique addresses the work, not the worth of the writer. We are especially mindful that young and beginning writers are still building the confidence to share work at all.

4. Honesty in what we promise

We represent our services, credentials, and outcomes accurately. Improvement cannot be guaranteed and publication cannot be promised; we do not suggest otherwise in marketing, sales conversations, or testimonials. We don’t use generative AI tools to provide feedback on Writer work.

5. Safety and appropriate boundaries

Writers are entitled to an environment free of harassment, exploitation, grooming, discrimination, and inappropriate conduct of any kind. Team members maintain professional boundaries with all Writers at all times, in and out of session, online and off. There are no exceptions for talent, rapport, or seniority.

6. Privacy

We collect only the information we need, protect what we hold, and never disclose a Writer’s identity, personal circumstances, or unpublished work outside the Team except with consent or as required by law. What a Writer shares in a workshop stays in the workshop.

7. Fairness and inclusion

We serve Writers without discrimination on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, disability, age, or any characteristic protected by applicable law. Workshop culture is actively inclusive: every Writer’s work receives serious attention, and no Writer’s participation is diminished by the conduct of others.

8. A community of mutual respect

Our workshops are shared rooms. The respect we owe our Writers, our Writers owe one another — in critique, in conduct, and in the material they bring into a shared space. The Code of Conduct sets community standards and a content policy for Writers; upholding them is part of how we keep every workshop safe and worth attending.

9. Integrity in our own house

Team members avoid conflicts of interest with Writers — including soliciting Writers for personal ventures, accepting gifts beyond nominal value, or entering business or personal relationships that compromise professional judgment. Because the entire Scene Stormers team serves as independent contractors to Wistful Tiger Incorporated, arrangements between the Company and any contractor who also holds a governance or ownership role in the Company are disclosed and approved by disinterested decision-makers, so that internal arrangements never distort the services Writers receive.

10. Accountability

Every member of the Team is personally responsible for upholding this Code, for raising concerns when they see it violated, and for cooperating with any review. Raising a good-faith concern will never result in retaliation. Company leadership is responsible for making these principles real in practice, not just on paper.

Adopted by Wistful Tiger Incorporated for its Scene Stormers division on Wednesday 07 September 2026. Questions and concerns may be raised with David Reed or through the Scene Stormers team consensus process.
